The Windy Day (Picture Books) Paperback – 1 January 2012

Let me tell you: this book is a miracle. I can now take a step outside my home without having my 3yo have a complete break down of panicked screaming as the tiniest breeze moves one strand of her hair. (Not to mention her little sister screaming in solidarity.) I was stuck indoors. Nothing I could do could convince her she wouldn't be swept away by the wind. My husband and I and other family members tried everything. Encouragement, promises of safety, experiments testing the wind strength, etc. I was feeling trapped in my home without any hope, until someone online recommended this book. One read through of this book and she's cured!. Still a bit scared of the wind, but not petrified. This book has given me some shred of normalcy. I can grocery shop, enjoy my backyard, walk my dog, all without dragging a kicking and screaming child fighting for her life. Could this book save you too? Who knows, but it's affordable and worth a try.

Perfect for weather project in school

We purchased this book after we were given The Snowy Day and On the Moon (both also by Anna Milbourne) and our family absolutely loves them! The books are fun, easy to read, not boring, teach kids (like this one talk about why it's windy or what happens when it's windy) and the illustrations are wonderful. I would recommend this book and others by Anna Milbourne in a heart beat.

Bought this to use with the older preschool group when we were looking at weather and learning about wind, done the job. A good addition to our resources
