You get what you pay for
I bought this little (24 brushes, maybe not little) set for various odd jobs like pollinating my tomato plants (I have an indoor machine that grows tomatoes), painting small dings (where the paint has chipped off) on my front fender of my car, etc. I did not purchase the set for a young child to paint with. The smallest brushes (they are numbered 1-24, 1 being the smallest brush and 24 being the biggest, thickest brush, work fine for my tasks. The handles are made of a decent wood, and they have a cheap metal band that connects the bristles to the handle. Herein lies the problem; the band connector is not overly well made, and bristles break free fairly easily. If this set is for a little kid, and you don't care that a few bristles may get in the finished work, this is a great set for the money; if, however, you are trying to use it to have a perfect bit of painting, forget it. I do find it interesting this is listed when I did my review as a "toy." I guess this is the first toy I have purchased for myself in about 60 years. (Yeah, I be old.) I hope this helps you make a decision regarding this product.

Great price!
I threw a painting party at home with a big group of women and I needed some affordable brushes in a big quanity. I was extremely hesitant because the name of these brushes "pre-school" like they're made for kids. Plus a lot of the reviews said it's great for kids but not professional painting etc. But I really didn't want to spend $15-25 on a 6 brush set that didn't have enough sizes to complete the painting we wanted. I would have needed 10-15 sets and that would have been really pricey for just one painting event, not including the easels, paint, canvas etc. So I took the risk and bought these. I'm so glad I did! I found them on the Michael's website for $22 but on sale for about $14 ...so this was a great deal! They worked fine. They got the job done. I'll post the painting we made so you can see. I painted my letters with the square brushes and did the sun with the round brushes. Everyone had a great time!

Perfect for my toddlers
The media could not be loaded. These paint brushes are exactly what I needed for my kids for painting on their easel. I wanted paint brushes that they could destroy as they learn how to hold the brushes and the kind of pressure needed to paint what they want. I didn't want expensive brushes because that just seems wasteful! You'll receive some flathead brushes and some round brushes of all different sizes. The hairs on the brushes sometimes flake off and they are not very smooth like a professional brush would be. But, because these are for my toddlers, they are absolutely perfect. The quality of the construction is excellent and I expect them to last for years to come. The weight and size of the handles is also perfect for my little ones.I made a video so you can get a closer look at the brushes before you make your purchase.

People need to calm down. It's $7
These brushes are exactly what I expected for thirty cents apiece. Some of the bristles pull out of the round ones, and you have to rinse the flat ones in water before you use them, but they're cheap and relatively well made. And let's be honest, the listing says preschool. If they're marketed towards preschoolers, odds are that they're not going to be good for actual painting, because preschoolers don't care about a few bristles.

You get what you pay for
Bought this for my 3 year old and as she has progressed with her fine motor skills she has moved from the biggest round brush to the finer brushes. It would be nice to get a storage case with these so they have a place to "live", we just place them in an old plastic cup. Not a deal breaker just a wish list....but you get what you pay for this isn't for a serious artist, great for kids as they become budding artists...

Handles fall off when wet
I was initially pleased with these brushes, especially for the price. Sure, some of the bristles would come out every once in a while, but that wasn't a big deal. However, I'm used to being able to soak paintbrushes in water in the sink until I get around to cleaning the paint off. I believe this is why the handles started coming off, because the glue must be water soluble or something, and doesn't hold up to getting wet. So, I would recommend you wash them out right away, and try to only get the bristles and metal part wet - avoid the seam where the metal meets the wooden handle.

Cheap Brushes, But They Work
I bought these for my three year old to use. They're cheap brushes. They don't have great strokes like a real artist's brush does. But hey, I'm not letting my three year old loose with my $15 sable hair brushes, and it's not like washable kid's paint is all that wonderful for artistic masterpieces. These brushes are great for what they are - inexpensive brushes that clean reasonably well, and apply kid's paint to kid's paper.
