Works great to add to cargo space
I bought this for my 2003 Ford Explorer so I could add a bit more cargo space behind the rear seats. I know it's not rated for heavy items but keeping blankets and coats in place is perfect. They no longer fall front onto the people in the back seat. Easy to put together and fits very well. The included bungee cords were a plus.

It keeps my four dogs out of the groceries
And no, I am not an animal hoarder; just lucky. First, I assembled it in the cramped car, so I didn't fit it together exactly as instructed, but it seems to work just fine. My only concern is gravity; because it attaches to headrests and not to the ceiling, there is nothing but slight friction to keep the wire 'fence' from sliding or being pushed down. Still, that has not yet proven to be a problem. And, I'm sure there are plenty of 'bush fixes' to prevent that, if it ever became an issue. The wire fencing, bungees and plastic bits are all solid and well made. I notice that about half of the low ratings for this product are related to the difficulty in assembly, and half about how it may be possible for a large, determined dog to push through. I agree that the instructions are unclear and could be way better, and because it attaches only in the middle (to headrests) and not to the top or bottom, it is susceptible to failure. Which is why it is essential to let your dog know that it is impenetrable the very first time you use it. Adjust it to fit as tightly as possible between the ceiling, the sides, and the floor/back seat. Fully extend the headrests so the gate can be attached at multiple points, and wrap towels around the headrest 'legs' to prevent the bungees from sliding either up or down. Then wedge temporary cargo around the sides and bottom (we used some 2X4s and blankets to fill any gaps). Once the dogs have tested their new 'cage wall', they will be satisfied that it is secure (hopefully), and not continue to test it in the future. Then you can remove the additional stuff you used to make it secure. Ideally, the instructions would have come with helpful hints to improve the installation experience, as well as warnings about how the product was not foolproof. Still, it seems to work quite well for most.

Serves it purpose!
I have a 4Runner and it fits with plenty of room to spare. It serves it purpose to keep my 5 dogs in the trunk area of the car. There’s no room for even the small ones to jump over which is perfect. I wish the instructions had been slightly more detailed but once I figured it out, super easy. It’s a little difficult to install by yourself but doable. Holds in place. No rattling or anything. Definitely recommend so far!

another easy way to install this dog barrier
This is a sturdy dog barrier. I use it to keep my corgi in the back seat which avoids having her drooling mouth sticking through to the front and slobbering all over the center console. If the back of your front seats have wide pockets, you can use the two separate pieces as "feet" to stabilize the wide piece and you don't need to use the bungee cords.

Greatest little helper ever
Easy to attach to the headrest. Took the girls (dogs) to the vet and had no issues. Such a relief. I used to have major issues with the keeping the girls in back

Sizing, Assembly, & installing is a headache.
Comes in 3 pieces. you have to figure out what width you need, "fasten them together" with something not provided, then attach them to the front of the back seats? with something not provided. I would have returned it if I hadn't waited so long (beyond 30 days) to discover it was a pain in the ass to assemble and nothing was provided to secure it.

Keeps my pets in the back seat safely.
My pets like to come to the front seat for any reason. After reading some reviews I was not sure but moved ahead with trying this guard. It installed very easy. I only used the one large folding gate. I have a crew cab pickup truck with a dog cover/bed that hooks to front and back seat rests covering floor or lower area center between seats. The two small gates we put together and use in the small vehicle between the seats with a dog cover in place like the truck has.My dog is not neurotic like the negative review people express. My pets lay back there very calmly and safe from any front abrupt stops. Happy to look out the windows or thru the gate to see what we are doing. The negative review people show a need to spend money and get a police gate bolted in place top and bottom.

DO NOT BUY! Awful quality. Looks ridiculous / dangerous for truck
I would give negative stars if I could. Do not buy this it is absolutely not what they say it is you have to piece it together with cheap plastic parts and then form it in the cargo area by using bungee cords to wrap it around the headrest of the backseats it doesn’t stay up straight. It’s super flimsy. It’s at an angle and it looks absolutely ridiculous on top of it being poor quality and now I have to pay to take it back
