Most read for all!
I was super excited when I saw that Vickie Remoe was releasing โAdama loves Akaraโ. It instantly gave a me nostalgic feeling of books I use to read as a young girl in Sierra Leone. That same feel drives me to introduce my girls to literature that represent our culture. โAdama love Ankaraโ resonates in a special way, from the main character (who I share name sake with) to all the characters in the book. My girls shear a special bond with their father as well and playing games and reading together is a daily event in our home I personally love the recipe at the end of the book. A new activity we will be adding to our weekends, making Ankara.I will be ordering more copies for all my nieces (from aunty Adama) and friends to teach about our culture.Thank you Vickie Remoe for such great representation!

Amazing read!!! Must have at home
I received the book. I want to say its an amazing book and a very simple read. As a teacher and reading specialist, this is an amazing cultural read that will bring joy to students as they can relate to what is being read. My favorite part of the book is the recipe at the end. Great body of work. I hope some schools in Freetown will use this as a cultural reading approach to make reading fun, engaging and exciting again!!! I love it!!!!

This book brings me so much joy!
As a woman that was once a Sierra Leonean child like Adama, itโs such a joy to own a childrenโs book that represents my culture in this way. Looking forward to gifting this book to all the children in my life, so they can fall in love with reading, and also see themselves.

We Love A-K-A-R-A
I love the story book. I stared reading it with my Princess and loves it. She was like what is AKARA? I was like you eat it already and showed her...she was excited. Congratulations to my sister @vickieremoe for publishing this book and putting Salone again on the map.#adamalovesakara, #salonebest, #sierraleone

Nice work.
It is a great book for early childhood literacy. It has a splendid splash of culture as you get to read about a sweet delicacy I love to eat called Akara. I also enjoyed seeing Adama bond with her father over a common interest. Also, the recipe is in the back! ๐๐พ๐๐พ๐๐พ

Diversity, Inclusion and HOME
This is a beautifully illustrated learning resource. The content is simple and provides a diverse and culturally inclusive perspective on learning. The recipe at the end is a beautiful addition to help families spend time with their children exploring a Sierra Leonean snack staple. Highly recommend for all.
