FOS is also included in this product to assist healthy growth of acidophilus and bifidus organisms. The probiotic is also enteric coated which allows for the product to deliver its microflora directly to the intestine, bypassing the harsh acidic conditions of the stomach. Each capsule contains 11 billion live organisms at time of manufacture. Store the bottle in a cool dry place. Probiotics are measured in colony forming units (CFU). CFUs are generally measured in the millions or billions per serving. Probiotics are most commonly beneficial bacteria, but can also be friendly fungal or other organisms, that are typically freeze dried to stabilize them in an inert state during storage and production.
