Great assist for getting up out of chair for those who need help
My patient introduced me to this and said it helps take pressure off of arms and joints, and allows them to use their strength to help them get up as well.Works great for helper and highly recommend.I call it an “easy up”.

Great when lifting from chair or bed
My husband needs help sitting up in bed, this is great for both of us. I do not scratch him nor bruise him. Also helps keep me from straining my back. Would buy again!

A good idea
This item is a good idea, but if the one person cannot help much it won't work

Works great but read on. . .
Got this to assist elderly parents with getting out of sofa/chairs and I have to say it does the trick nicely, however:1. If you think it will lift them without effort on your part you will be disappointed. You will need the strength to keep yourself and your "Liftee" upright and balanced. This is very much a teeter totter game.2. If your "Liftee" does not have the shoulder strength to keep this assistive device close to their core, it will not work. You will just be pulling their arms out of their sockets and hurting either yourself of them.3. If your "Liftee" has knee issues be extra careful when you release your end or you will both end up on the couch/floor.

Great for getting clients out of bed
It's solid plastic so it doesn't stretch. If they have upper body strength this is really great to use and a way for them to use their muscles. They can pull themselves to you while you gently pull them towards you. I use this with my 98 year old client getting her out of bed. She can grab on and pull herself up and forward and then scoot herself, swing her legs over side to sit up position all while holding on, then she lets go to get ready to stand using walker. I use less of my strength and she uses more of hers, with no strain on my back. If I need to I can use more of mine till I can let go of one of my hands and place it behind her back to hold her up while she scoots to edge of bed and swings legs over. Haven't used it for chair but I'm sure it would work great just make sure they have good footing because you can't really grab them if your pulling them up and they can't grab onto anything for balance since they are also holding on.

Didn’t work for us
The handy handle came highly recommended by another care giver. She said it was a lifesaver for her husband. I can appreciate the purpose of this device but my husband’s dementia is too far gone to be of use. It made me sad because he definitely needs help getting up from chairs. I’ll offer it to someone in our community who will understand it’s purpose.

Amazingly Easy to Use!
This is truly a surprisingly handy device! I purchased the Standing Assist Handle to help my husband get out of the car following a prolonged hospital stay. I am 5'3", 125# and was able to easily help him stand with little effort. Our car is rather low to the ground, and I was expecting to have to expend quite a bit of effort - but was amazed how well the assist handle worked! The handle also fits into a very narrow pocket on the passenger side door, so it is always there and ready when needed.if you need to help someone safely and easily stand from a chair, this is a wonderful tool to have (and saves your back!)

Little effort to lift another person
This device was an excellent suggestion from a physiotherapist. My husband can lift me from a sitting position on the ground, and I can lift him with equal ease with surprisingly little effort. It's light enough to toss in a tote bag. I keep it handy on a nearby doorknob.
