This is the 2nd camera I have installed on my truck in 5 years. Having a forward facing camera is great on tight trails and tight parking places, but wind and debris will scratch them over time, and will need to be replace when it gets scratched

I've had this camera on my car since last fall, and I really like the way it mounts, it's different from other cameras. I ended up gluing it to a ledge above my license plate, but of course you can drill a hole and mount it into the back of your car, and possibly mount it in a hole in your license plate if you don't want to drill a hole in your car, and your state allows that.Installation is easy, there is a quick connect plug so you can wire the camera and front wiring separately and plug it in towards the rear of the car. I have the positive 12v wire going to the reverse wire on my stereo which go to the reverse light and the black wire to ground so the camera is only powered when I am in reverse. Some people may want the camera on all the time, this is just how I did it. The camera turns on quickly and you can choose to have parking lines on the screen, or cut a small wire and those lines go away. You can also reverse the image by cutting a different wire.This camera is fairly waterproof and has made it through a fairly rough winter and the lens didn't fog up at all, which is an issue I've had with other backup cameras.Overall, I'm happy with this one. Quality is good considering it's the standard composite video. I'm not sure why car stereos don't have HDMI inputs yet. I'm sure that will come eventually, which will greatly improve the quality of these cameras. The lenses are good but the video signal can only output something like 525 lines of resolution over composite video so it looks blurry on larger displays.The 170 degree angle is nice. I prefer a wider angle for parking, you can see both sides of the bumper and all around your car so you which helps when backing up.

The media could not be loaded. Excellent, it fits very well on my 2012 Honda Civic LX. I only had to buy a special adapter to be able to see the rearview camera on the original screen.

It fits in my camry perfect just like oem the video is looking clear.

Oct. 2021 Update: I had to replace the rear window motor in my 4runner and it required me ditching the first installation all together. I purchased another camera because it worked so well the first time and for the price, you can't beat it, or so I thought. I installed this camera the same way and to the same head unit I did the first time, having no issues what so ever. The new camera, however, is of MUCH lower quality and different view angle than the first one I owned. The new camera I ordered and installed has a major "fish eye" or "fish bowl" lens to it. This looks nothing like any of the views other buyers have shared in their reviews (nor what I had from the camera I ordered back in 2018, see my last photo). I'm extremely disappointed in the version that they are selling now. I cannot even see people or poles that are behind me until they are a foot away from my car. The old version had a much more balanced and further distant view, not as warped as this one. Will be returning and ordering from someone else. I caution new buyers to look elsewhere too...Worked flawlessly and parts seem to be of quality. Only reason for 4 stars is front camera has white brand written on it, which doesn't help with the OEM look. Probably going to sharpie out or some electrical tape so it looks clean but overall for function worked great and provides very clear image. Installed with a pioneer headunit on a 2006 Toyota 4Runner Sport

I install a lot of back up cameras for car dealerships and retail customers, adding them to existing factory radio screens or aftermarket radios. I’ve been using this camera for a while. The price point is excellent, quality/durability seem good and the picture quality is excellent. No comebacks or DOAs so far.My initial complaint was that the primary camera cable is a too short. Like most cameras, it has a two-piece cable: a short harness from the camera with a skinny 4-pin connector (which is only about 3’ long), which connects to a longer power/rca harness which then travels to the front of the vehicle/radio . This is fine for trunk installations, but if you’re doing a hatchback or SUV with a liftgate, the 3’ camera harness is not nearly long enough to route through the rubber boots and into the vehicle itself. This means you have to take the longer RCA/power harness and work it through the rubber boot from the inside of the car into the hatchback and connect it there to the camera harness. Working that fat RCA connector through a rubber grommet can be a major pain on some vehicles. Most professional cameras that I use have a camera harness that is twice as long, making it easy to run the small four pin connector into the vehicle, and connect it to the RCA/Power harness at that point.Today I ran into a second issue: working on three different Toyota vehicles at the same location, I could not get the camera to work at all! I thought “Surely I can’t have a batch of bad cameras”? After a bit of detective work I determined that the camera must have a full 12 V of power supply to it, even though it has a voltage regulator built-in to cut the power down (presumably to 6 V like most cameras). The power output on most factory radio’s (Toyota in this case) for camera trigger is only about 6 V. That will not turn this camera on! So I have to do some extra wiring to run the camera power wires to a 12 v Power source, something I never have to do with more professional grade camera’s (which cost twice as much). So bear that in mind. So far I do recommend it but it does have a few shortcomings.
