Rocky III (RPKG/DVD)
J**!
I believe this is the best sequel of the Rocky series of the original 4 sequels.
This movie had everything a good sequel needs. Beautiful character arcs in ALL the main characters, we had the trainer role being passed from the old to the young, the hero's anti-hero in the first film. We got to see Rocky mature and face the real challenge in life: Fear. We had an excellent portrayal of a villain with Mr. T, and also the ending we all really wanted to see: Rocky Vs. Apollo III, of which we do not find out who won until the "Creed" movie is released in 2015 in which Rocky admits Apollo won....most likely due to Rocky letting him win because he owed him that favor.

"I'm Gonna Bust You Up! "
(The following review was written by Karyn's husband, Ted)Ask anyone you know which Rocky movie was their favorite and they will gladly tell you: 'Rocky 3, the one with Mr.T!" Yes, Stallone returns to the ring for a third time, but Rocky is bloated with fame and success to the point of having forgotten the reasons why he fought so hard to get there. He is reminded very quickly by a relatively unknown fighter named Clubber Lang ( Mr. T ) This walking timebomb has followed Rocky's rise to the top and is convinced he's a sellout-a 'paper champion' with no balls. Stallone stars, writes, and directs with amazing precision as he wants us to see Rocky as just a man. A man who has given in to the very lucrative endorsement deals and temptations that come with fame and being a world champion. Rocky seems to have it all, but has he sold out? Has he lost his soul in his desires to be the best? ( Tiger Woods, are you listening?)Mr. T educates Rocky the hard way, defeating him like a spoiled step-child in front of the world. Burgess Meredith returns to try and talk Rocky into turning down the fight, but ends up having a fatal heart attack after being abused by the terrible Mr.T. This is a pivotal moment for Rocky as he could just retire for good. Apollo Creed ( Carl Weathers ) also returns as Rocky's best friend and trains Rocky to get back what he has lost-That's right, baby-The Eye of the Tiger! The training montage was invented by Stallone and this one is vintage 80's, but in a good way, not cheesy. Adrian and Paulie also return for the third round and we see how Paulie has feelings after all as he feels left out in the cold by all Rocky's attention. After all the blood, sweat, and tears of the training montage, Rocky is ready to payback Mr.T with a re-match.What is truly amazing to watch is the pure hatred Mr. T has for Rocky- He even makes it very personal when he insults Adrian in public-inticing Rocky to fight. We can feel the never-ending rage that Clubber Lang has even by himself as he trains ! Mr. T is ready to open up a can of whoopass, but underestimates Balboa's determination and persistence in the final fight. I still stand up and cheer as Rocky takes the abuse but keeps fighting like a pit-bull against Mr.T and realizes that Mr.T 'Ain't so BAAD! You ain't so BAAD!'A truly remarkable victory for Rocky ( The first complete victory since parts one and two were considered a 'tie', remember?) and by far the most entertaining boxing film of all time. Rocky! Rocky! Rocky!

Amazing Film
Rocky's struggle to overcome his defeat and train for himself inspired me. This story shows what it means to be a man, and after watching, I'm more determined to work hard at my goal's for myself, not for any other pitiful reason. I am determined to be a man like Rocky, or better yet, I want to be the best version of myself. Thank you Rocky III, there is no tomorrow!

This film nearly has it all - great, great, great!
I had to watch this one last, because it wasn’t available in Singapore! Luckily, Amazon had it, ha ha… The film doesn’t disappoint, as it has all of the trademark Rock items – hamming-it-up comedic scenes (the nutty endorsements), training sequences, a passionate speech by Paulie-the-loser, a motivational speech by Adrian, a recap of the final moments of the previous film, crustiness from Mickey, personal tragedy, irony (Apollo’s “it’s too bad we gotta get old” comment), fall-and-recovery, and that indomitable Rocky spirit. It’s also got music, both good and bad. And great dialogue:- You’re just a jealous, lazy bum.- You ever fought a dinosaur?- No, not lately.- What does this guy eat for breakfast?- 202 pounds.- Huh?- [announcer] And weighing in at 202 pounds… the heavyweight champion of the world… Rocky Balboa!- You’re going to wear your anatomy on the outside. Nobody does this much for charity.- Bob Hope does.- That’s true- The ultimate man… versus the ultimate meatball.- [Rocky Jr] What happened to Goldilocks?- [Paulie] Bot busted for trespassin’, 30 days in the cooler.- [Rocky] Nice, Paulie!- Can he swim?- With a name like Rock?- There is no tomorrow. One of the things that’s missing is the run-up-the-stairs sequence, but they cover that off with the unveiling of the Rocky statue on the same steps. The Hulk Hogan cameo if hammy, but fun.Nice film, even it it’s not as good as the previous ones.

It's A Great Classic
I got to say that it's an epic sequel that everyone should enjoy. Even though it's not as critically acclaimed like the previous movies and it got more silly and goofy, it's still memorable to watch especially for Rocky fans. Now here's the story. Rocky lives his celebrity life as a fighter and a worldwide star after winning the World Heavyweight Championship in the previous movie. When Clubber Lang (played by Mr.T) came around, things got real serious. Rocky's longtime trainer, Mickey (played by Burgess Meredith) dies and Rocky loses his fight against Clubber Lang and lost his World Heavyweight Championship. Then, his former rival, Apollo Creed (played by Carl Weathers) came to tell Rocky that he lost his edge and needed to be like he used to. So, Rocky accepted to train with Apollo and went to LA to train. I got to say, the montage was fantastic and memorable. The rematch maybe a little cheesy but it's still intense. Rocky also wore Apollo's old American flag shorts from the first movie. Adrian (played by Talia Shire) is way more good looking compared to the first two movies and she was a lot more thoughtful and supportive to Rocky. Paulie (played by Burt Young) is the same silly and stupid brother-in-law. If you are a Rocky fan, you should already like this movie. If you haven't seen any of the Rocky movies, this one will be one of the more enjoyable ones.

Arrived in brisk time. Felt the urge to buy this movie as there was more fights involved. Unforgettable cast and characters including hulk hogan, excelled in awesome, notable training parts. Mr t is suited to clubber language role with his constant taunting and intent at rocky for success, emotional, scenes with adrenalin pumping, brought up with these films felt like was in them, soundtrack is breathtaking music.
