Chair shock went bad and this was the "best bang for your buck" Very nice so simple. Much cheaper than replacing the shock. It's held in place and I'm happy.

Added this to the chair hydraulic and after a 10 hour day it sank about a 1/4 of an inch. The next day it dropped about an inch so I lifted the hydraulic and clamped in down. This time the screws bottomed out to the point where they could not go any tighter. Next day sunk about 1/4 of an inch again. Continues to sink. This is not the solution you or I are looking for.UPDATEI found that metal repair bracket also shredded the top of the cylinder. Found black plastic shavings everywhere. Definitely not a solution.

I like the EZ way it goes on, but it slipped a little, but did not have the little rubber ring on it. You can save your old seat if it is comfortable. With this fix, it can hold a lot of weight and make your old seat once again feel great. I recommend my friend; SEATS are really for your end. Fixed the chair great for the money

This clamp is strong enough for keeping an office chair from sinking, but it does have a tendency to slip on the smooth hydraulic cylinder over time. I was going to try to add a second or third one of these to my chair. so they'd have no space to slip down at all - but the second one I ordered was defective, missing the plate that the bolts could actually screw into which i discovered too late for a return. Ad says to contact the company, but no contact info is provided - anywhere. Disappointed but will try a different solution I guess...

This gadget did NOT HELP chair still sinks, yeah maybe not as much but it still sinks, just not worth it. Not happy.

Bottom line with this p[product is you can buy all the parts at a local hardware store. But it is convenient to have the parts bundled for a specific purpose and to have the single tool needed to install it. The value is good.As for the reviews complaining about the slippage that may happen, just throw a few layers of duct tape (I used Gorilla tape) around the hydraulic piston and then install the clamps. This eliminates slippage due to any oil that may be on the smooth exterior surface of the piston.I gave it 4 stars because it works and it is cheap.
