Described as "stainless steel" but product supplied is soft non anodised uncoated aluminum. Consequently the hooked rod will be prone to electrolytic corrosion where contacting dissimilar metals (e.g. spring steel locking washer) and the rod can easily bend and buckle when first trying to push on the washer. Pulling the rod with pliers to keep the hook engaged on the solar panel frame, whilst pushing the locking washer down the rod in tension against the mesh, can cause the hook end to straighten out and disengage from the solar panel frame.The hook can easily be bent back into shape but getting the washer off the now deeply scored aluminum bar to start again is difficult (an M5 nut pressed into the back of the washer to open up the fingers helps). The bar will also by now have fine sharp barbed shavings which can penetrate skin as tiny and invisible painful splinters so beware.Consequently my mesh is only loosely held in place for fear of the rods failing if tightened any further. I have ordered some 2.5 mm OD stainless steel wire to make new rods to replace the aluminium rods and by re-using the spring steel locking washers. Unfortunately this requires accessing the roof again and the job to be repeated.The supplier apologised and said they would change the description to say "aluminum" but they have forgotten to do this - hence this review to make others aware. Beyond an apology they suggested I get in contact with Amazon customer services who provided a full refund.

A little bit fiddly to get onto the solar panels? Bit once there I bent them to angles to stop the pigeons that had been roosting at the top of the panels. The little discs are a bit tight to get onto the spikes but once in place they seem to do th3 job. The row of wires should be close enough together that the pigeons can not getvto roost comfortably.Good idea.Good price point.

I’m no metal expert but the only other review to date describes these far better than I ever could. I fully agree with the other reviewer that these are extremely soft metal pins that bend very easily when applying the locking washer. I tested these on a spare bit of angle iron I had and when applying no the washer it didn’t take long for the hooked end to deform and start to straighten out to a right angle, if you can’t see this happening when apply these to your solar panels then you are clueless as to how secure the mesh is.I have no doubt that a little searching on Amazon will reveal better quality for the same price.
