My first impulse was to give the item one star. I hate when ads try to oversell their products and the product description lists this as a knee brace. This is not a knee brace it's a compression sleeve. However, I decided to give the sleeves a try to test it's effectiveness. I should note that I have had knee replacement on both knees, and twice on my right knee (wore it out). And for those who are wondering, it's possible to have multiple knee replacements, just be sure your med insurance will cover them.The method for sizing the sleeve is a rough fit, everyone's knees, thighs and calves are different. The suggested size for me worked out but if your sizing is not quite right they offer a 30 day return policy. If you're on the border line between sizes like me you can choose to buy the bigger size which would tend to be a looser fit which means less compression but probably a more comfortable feeling or go smaller for more compression but tighter feeling. I went smaller to get more compression.The sleeves have a smell right out of the bag but either the smell went away or I got use to it as soon I did not notice the smell. The sleeves look well made with no noticeable defects. While I went with the smaller size for more compression, the sleeves are thinner than the sleeves I currently own and the compression is not as intense. But for me this is not a bad thing. I can wear these sleeves for a longer period of time with out that feeling that my circulation is being cut off all the while adding some support to the muscles surrounding my knees. I can use them for yard work or trying to keep up with the grandkids. For more intense exercise or workouts that require a lot of knee bending I use one of more robust sleeves.So for light compression and a bit of support these fit the bill. If you're looking for a real knee brace look for something else. I would have likely given these 3 stars but in my case they fit a need I didn't realize I needed, so for me it's 4 stars.

I purchased the Modvel Braces to support my knees that are about half-way through their 6th decade and to which I’ve been subjecting a pickleball playing habit lately! I’m very happy with these sleeves because they give me relief from pain by keeping the heat in when I wear them, also they give me great support during the constant lateral movements that pickleball requires. They’re made from a blend of nylon and latex so they feel lightweight, yet they’re thick, again, giving great support. I’ve washed them several times and they are retaining their shape quite well. Their breathability and moisture-wicking properties keep me comfortable all day. Because they’re available in many sizes, they make an excellent gift for anyone seeking knee pain relief or workout support. I love these knee braces.

These pairs of compression sleeves, manufactured by Modvel, are FDA approved for their safety and effectiveness. They are recommended for activities like cycling, running, other sports activities, as well as, daily activities around the house and yard. They're made from a combination of spandex, nylon and latex materials that act as a moisture wicking fabric, keeping you cool and dry throughout the day or throughout your excercise activities. These sleeves are designed to use compression to reduce pain and inflammation and offer some support, which will help with previous injury recovery. Make sure you use the manufacturers sizing guide to get the correct size sleeve, in order to achieve the best results for your body.These sleeves are snug, but not difficult to get on. The design pattern of the sleeve has a knee shaped group of lines that acts as a guide to properly position the sleeve over the knee. The sleeve is held in place by compression along with a 1 1/4" elastic band at the top and a 1/4" elastic band at the bottom of the sleeve. Also, the top inside edge contains two thin lines of silicon that come in contact with your skin, preventing the sleeves from sliding down the legs. The only wrinkling in the material will be on the back side of the leg, when the knee is bent, but it's really not noticeable. As an individual with decades of knee pain, swelling, and some knee weakness - these sleeves do work. I've noticed less knee swelling and pain, plus when bending they have provided just enough support for my knee weakness. These sleeves are definitely more comfortable to wear than other braces that I own. Finally, these sleeves can be washed in your washing machine using cold water. They shouldn't be put in a dryer, just hang or leave out to air dry.

I compared these to another generic brand off Amazon. The quality feel and thickness is nice, but the design feels off, for me at least. Typically the knee is where I like most of the tightness to be, but with these Modvel ones, all the tightness is in the upper thigh area. When compared to the other model, you can see where the knee area shrinks in, while the top and bottom stretch out a bit more. With the Modvel design, it's just cone-like, wider on top and smaller as you go down. Since I have a thicker thigh, this puts alot of pressure on my thigh versus my knee. Yes, I can still feel pressure around the knee area and yes, it does relieve my knee pain, but it also introduces thigh pain. I used their size chart and got a large based on their recommendation, but which this design I feel I would need to up 2 sizes for a better feeling around my thigh, I just think that may make way less pressure on the knee area then.TLDR: I dont like the design, but they work. I feel less pain in my knee at the expense of a very tight fit around my thigh. Maybe get 1 or 2 sizes bigger if you have a thick thigh.

The brace hugs your knee and helps stabilize it. It was too large for me, but my husband said that it was comfortable to wear.
