Does All The Basics
Recommended for the price. Fairly easy setup. Looks the part. Decent sound. Compatible with T-Mobile / Mint / etc. using nano SIM card. It makes calls, takes photos, and is really rugged - as in, it survives drops, no case needed! One con so far: it’s very heavy; oh, also, the weather uses a Chinese satellite company and will be stuck giving readings in Celsius.Bottom line: good “granny phone” for someone who needs a huge screen and doesn’t carry it around all day.

Solid small phone
Update - been 4 months now. Still enjoying the device. The picture saving lag fixed itself. Camera was adequate on vacation - embrace some lofi style editing and it's good. I do notice the wifi seems to lag sometimes (often). Biggest issue is keyboard size and accuracy. I use a lot of swipe and predictive keyboard. Phone still great for daily useI was tired of carrying around gigantic phones - but still needed Android for apps, android auto, and a decent camera. After looking around a bunch decided on picking this up. Also considered the Jelly but this seemed to have a better phone and more features. Feels great in your hand - but pretty thick compared to conventional devices. Height is perfect. Has everything you need - NFC payments, Face ID, fingerprint, a decent rear speaker, and pretty solid rear and front cameras. Works with Google Fi.My biggest issue is a really long lag after you take a picture while it seems to be saving it. Feels like 8-10s seconds. You can't take another photo and it seems to not save the photo if you switch out of the camera app too fast. It's a few less seconds if you decrease the default file size to 5 MP. The 48 MP shots take a really long time to save. Seems to do better with some 3rd party camera apps but still an issue. Kinda weird and makes you realize you comprimised a bit for a smaller form factor.Overall still glad I picked this up and I am done with giant 6+ inch screens

Not as great as 2 year old BV4900
This is a good solid phone with clear sound, easy read screen and nice user interface. If that is what you need, get this phone! However, I need Android Auto for a 2016 Chevy and it just doesn't link. Kudos to Blackview Support for trying, hard.5 star:Phone calls & textingScreen clarityCamera0 star (won't do at all)Connection to 2016 Chevy MyLinkSplit screenScreen cast / mirroring (to Fire TV Lite stick)Oddly all the things it won't do, my 2 year old BV 4900 with Android 12 will.I do like the new stuff under Android 13 but I'm not impressed with what it gave up from 12.

Blackview BV-4800
Blackview BV-4800, a beautiful and bright (450 nit) screen, good controls, great touch screen, good music sound, very rugged, decent speed computer. Works great for navigation. Battery lasts a long time.Overall, 8 cell towers out of 10 towers.

Good phone. Get what you pay for
Save your money. But a ruggedized phone. Basically a tough Samsung 9. Recommended. Especially for the money

Good phone, but 2 things to know
This is a solid little phone. Strong and sturdy as rugged phones usually are. The screen will be very difficult to crack. Good camera, clear calls, touchscreen is tiny, but it's a compact phone. Great features.2 annoying things about it, one I can live with, one I cannot believe:I can live with the fact that this phone does not have a 3.5mm, but I am old schoolI cannot believe they designed the speakers on the back to sit flat on a flat surface. What this means is that if you place the phone on a table face up, it mutes your speakers. You can't hear the phone ring or anything. What idiot thought of that? The workaround is this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0897XP2HF?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_detailsIt will raise the phone enough to not hinder the speaker performance, but should we have to do that?
