This review is especially important to read for those who are contemplating this purchase to use as an under-seater bag on a domestic flight. Be warned: the bag is slightly too wide to fit within almost all airlines’ parameters. Unfortunately, the listing text implies otherwise, but I just checked a detailed list of all the airlines’ size restrictions; it's easy enough for you to do the same. One other reviewer indicated she used it on a Spirit Airlines flight, but technically the bag is 2” too wide to be accepted by Spirit. The only airline I can find that technically allows this bag is Delta. The width exceeds the restrictions set by Southwest, United, and American by at least a couple of inches. If you fly one of the latter three airlines, be prepared to check the bag! That said, my assumption is that it kind of just depends on who it is at the airlines that actually approves or denies the bag – some airline employees will be more lenient than others.I know this is advertised as a weekender bag, but it could actually be used in a myriad of ways; it's so extremely versatile. It would be great to carry just about any sports equipment, and if you go to the gym before or after work, it’s perfect! There’s a special spot for your laptop, and there’s the bottom compartment for your running shoes, etc., complete with two holes on either side (four total) for ventilation. For traveling, the bottom compartment is also great for stashing dirty clothes.I’m super impressed with the bag’s quality. It admittedly doesn’t look the best in some of my photos as it just arrived and hasn’t had time to de-wrinkle yet, but there is nothing about the quality that appears to be lacking. No stray threads whatsoever; it also feels very protective of its contents and like it could securely hold a lot of weight.The small bag that accompanies it can of course hold cosmetics, but when I travel, I like to designate a particular place for all of my charging cords, and the mini bag would serve well in that regard, too. It could hold snacks for a road trip, or the items that you’ll need first when you reach your destination, etc.I have a handbag very, very similar to this bag – also in the shades of brown, black, and ivory. I especially love this combo because it goes with absolutely anything and I’m kind of fussy in that regard! The color-blocking is also still very on trend, of course.As for the value of this item, heck yes, it's a great one! And yes, I'd absolutely recommend this bag to a friend or family member, though probably not if they're looking for it to be an unchecked airline bag.

I really like this weekender bag. I purchased this bag as a gift for my niece, who's heading to college in the fall. I was looking for something "grown up", but not too "girly". This bag can easily go from casual to more sophisticated, depending on her mood and needs, and I think she's going to get a lot of use out of it.This weekender bag has lots of nice features, including plenty of pockets, a laptop sleeve, shoe storage, a shoulder strap, a port for charging your phone, a sleeve for sliding over your luggage handle, and metal zippers and rings. Both the inside and outside of the bag easily wipe clean. The opening has a wire frame, but the rest of the bag doesn't have any structure, making it easy to store in a small space.The one thing I'm not thrilled with is the USB charging port. I think USB is so yesterday and a USB-C port would have been a better choice. I know there are plenty of adapters either way, but I just like the thought of it being more up to date, especially for a college student.Overall, this weekender bag will be the perfect gift, but I would also enjoy using it myself.

I really like the shoe pocket. It is bigger than the ones on other bags I have. The main body of the bag is smaller than I expected though. Also, the top has a stiff "frame" that makes it very hard to zip if you pack it full, leaving even less useable space. The color is nice, but the brown is a faux leather that looks and feels quite fake. The biggest reason for only 3 stars is the weird stiff frame that holds the top open, and makes it hard to close unless the top 1/4 of the bag doesn't have anything in it.

I have 2 other weekender/duffle bags and this one is my favorite! This bag has some unique features: USB plug in, can carry 2 pairs of shoes, and there is a thin metal bar beneath the fabric that keeps the upper portion of the bag open for packing! This bag is great for my husband and I to take on a weekend trip and have everything we both would need with us. The packing area is extra roomy with several pockets we can use to keep things separated. It also comes with a small toiletry bag, so all our belongings stay together. This bag has the look of a more expensive bag; however, the unique features make it more desirable than others. It is not overly costly like other bags and the features make this a winner!
