The Siberian Milk Thistle Oil arrives film wrapped in a printed cardboard box - suitable for a gift. The film wrap is not recyclable.Printed on the box is the dosage (there are only 7 doses of milk thistle oil in the 100ml bottle); the ingredients (mechanically cold pressed seeds of the milk thistle plant to produce an extra virgin oil with no added ingredients).The oil is contained in a brown recyclable plastic bottle (PET-1) and the BBD is 02/2026. It is predominantly poly and mono unsaturated fats (see photo).The oil is pure in taste and the closest I can get to is a little like sesame oil - but really it has its own pleasant flavour. It is fine in smoothies but for me best in salad dressings.The reason to take milk thistle oil is because it contains a compound known as silymarin. This compound has been researched (mainly in animal studies) and found to be effective for certain conditions especially related to liver disease or diabetes. More research is required in humans but silymarin appears promising mainly due to its anti-oxidant/free radical scavenging activity. There are certain side effects - so look these up first before purchasing as it is best avoided in certain conditions. Unfortunately there is no statement on the packaging with respect to the silymarin content in the product. This is important as the seeed vary in silymarin content and most milk thistle products are standardized preparations that contain 70–80% silymarin. In this case I just don't know.The current price is £15.00 which is about £2.00 per dose or £150.00 per litre - which makes it a very expensive oil.Overall a good quality oil but very expensive.

This oil is supposed to be good for your liver but the guidance on the bottle is not as clear as it might be and it is also very expensive compared to similar products. It doesn’t taste of anything so can be added to salad dressings etc

Came well packaged in cardboard box, cellophane wrapped.And bottle had cellophane seal on top.You receive 7 servings, can be used in salads, dressings, smoothies, baking plus other ideas.Recommend dose just 1 tablespoon a day.I put my 1 tablespoon in my chocolate smoothie and I didn’t detect any aftertaste of the thistle milk, so complimented my drink perfectly.There are no preservatives, additives, colours or aromas, and grown in Siberia from sustainable farmed seeds.Enjoyed using it and will definitely continue.Yes, I’d recommend because it’s 100%, no additives.Best before date February 2026.

This is such an amazing pure milk thistle oil very versatile you can put it on your juice salad or as salad dressing etc. I love this product no chemical just pure 100% milk thistle oil really good for supporting liver function.Hope my review was helpful

Exactly as advertised, it's great to drizzle on foods. It comes in a little bottle with little guidance of use. It doesn't have any flavour, so its easy to add seasonings to it. However, it's selling for the high cost of £12.95.
