It worked!
It worked! I really wasn't expecting much from this but I thought that, at the price, it was worth a try. My dog is a big softy but doesn't like having his teeth brushed and I never feel I really do a good job. He usually uses doggy toothpaste on a bristly chewy each night but I'm a bit rubbish at brushing his teeth with a brush. He is 4 and last time he was at the vets they did say his teeth were a bit plaquey and needed better brushing. I upped the doggy bristle chew but still didn't feel like I did enough brushing. His teeth were looking quite discoloured. He doesn't get sweet treats or human food, so his diet is tooth friendly. I used this little tool and it actually removed all of the staining. It probably took me about 20 minutes to do all of his front teeth as far back as his canines. I have yet to try the back ones but his front ones are now really white. I am amazed at how well it worked. It just took off a tiny bit at a time and to begin with I didn't think it would get it all off, but it did. I just kept giving him tiny treats and keeping at it.I would thoroughly recommend trying this if your dog will let you.

Useful but extreme care must be taken when using
This descales can be useful in removing light tartar build up. I suggest being ultra careful, especially when working near the gum line and I definitely wouldn’t use on an hyperactive dog. I haven’t had an accident with it but It would be easy to damage the gum line if your dog suddenly twisted his/her head. I use it for 2/3 teeth at a time as my dog really not keen on it. It’s good value for money and it’s not too long which is a bonus in my opinion. There’s no scent to it.

So simple to use and you get excellent results
This sturdy tool is like a mini chisel. It has two presice flat ends that are perfect for chipping off the gross, hard build up on your dog's teeth. We have a 6 year old labrador with significant hard build up.With gentle encouragement she let us do a few minutes every day for a week. Her teeth now look amazing. One tip, sent work up the teeth to the gum as its easy to slip and hurt them. Work down the teeth. You do have to apply a good amount of pressure too.

Dog hates it, but does do the job well
It's difficult to use because of my dog being so 😕 If the dog would be compliant then useful. I did manage to get some scale of one tooth. Very good value though

Staining came off so easy.
I was a bit worried about ordering this as a few reviews said this was razor sharp, I tried it along my finger first but I didn’t find it too sharp at all. My 2 mini schnauzers are 4 and 5 years old, they've always hated the toothbrush, I pretty much gave up cleaning their teeth a long time ago, they had brown staining on some teeth, I was getting worried about them and was considering having the vet clean them but then I came across this little gadget, I bought it thinking there’s no way they’ll let me use it on them but I managed and within seconds the brown staining was off, I still can’t get over how easy it was to remove, just wish I’d taken some before and after pics. I now use ‘vets best clean teeth finger pads’ a few times a week which they don’t mind as much compared to a toothbrush and know that if they start staining again I can use this wee de scaler to clean it off. I recommend this.

A great little item!
A great little item! Easy to hold without slipping and cutting the dog's gums. Very sharp and angled so that you don't have to press too hard to get the desired result. For best results, brush the dog's teeth first then you don't have to wade through tons of half-mashed biscuit stuck to their teeth.Put them in a well-lit corner so they can't back out. Stand astride them with their heads through your legs and rest their heads on your upper or lower leg then open their mouths with wetted fingers so that you don't drag on their lips. Keep calming them and telling them to keep still for Mummy or Daddy, as the case may be! They'll soon learn that moving causes pain.If you start with the fangs and scrape the lower part of the tooth first, to get the feel of how the tool works, then move up to the gums to get rid of that nasty black line which is so dangerous to dogs' dental health. The back teeth are the most difficult because it's hard to pull the gums right back, especially when the dog is struggling (which they usually are by this time) but keep at it, all the time calming them and telling them to keep still. They'll soon get used to it and it's better than having them anaesthetised every year to get their teeth cleaned, which is dangerous to their health in itself. As I've been using a mini-screwdriver for years with mixed results and a lot of bleeding gums, this is a godsend for me. The dogs didn't seem to mind this tool half as much as the screwdriver, so I'd say it's a success. Buy one - if you can't manage to use it because the dog is really resistant, you haven't wasted much money!

Cheap, but not particularly effective
I'm not sure if it's possible to use this wrong, but it's a little blunt I find it just slides over plaque (even after softening the plaque), instead of getting underneath to scrape it off. It's well made, and good quality. I think it'd probably work better on scraping if the plaque wasn't up to the gumline.A fingernail works better in my case.
