I'm excited to make things with the coconut, and while it tastes fresh, a manufacture date, best by date, expiry date, etc. would be appreciated. It was not so well sealed that I could not smell it through the bag, so it couldn't have been too old, but I would prefer to know the freshness of my food.I have added it to a smoothie so far, but will be adding them to some peppermint patties that I am making for christmas.

This is a huge bag of coconut chips! They're not like crispy chips, they do taste fresh. After toasting them, the flavor was intensified and they got crispier.

This is an absolutely monstrous bag of shaved dried coconut. This bag is super great for many different recipes that call for coconut. This goes well in my granola mix when I have my morning breakfast. I also mix these in my smoothies for a little bit of coconut kick. You can smell the delicious coconut through the bag when you get it. I wish the coconut came in a bag that was a little sturdier as once you open it you have to have a way to store the rest as there is no way you are using the whole thing at once unless you are a restaurant and baking 100 cakes.

I didn't quite realize just how big a 3 pound bag of coconut chips would be, but I'm so glad I got it. I've been eating them plain, adding them to yogurt with some granola, and I plan on using them for a couple of my Thanksgiving pies. The bag of coconut chips I received did not have a manufacture date or a sell/use by date anywhere on the packaging. So, it is impossible to know how old the product is. That said, I tasted the coconut chips and they tasted fresh. The description does not say that the coconut is sweetened, but the ingredients lists cane sugar and salt. If there is sugar and salt in there it must be very little because I did not notice it at all when I tried it. Just be aware sugar is listed as an ingredient if you are looking for an unsweetened product.
