Good quality candle, but if you like the scent is gonna be very subjective
As a candle, this meets all the expectations you'd hope.It lights easily, doesn't smoke when extinguished, burn time (quoted as 60-70 hours) seems accurate, and it's a nice frosted glass jar with a metal lid. It comes in a nice box, safely packed, and suitable for wrapping. The scent is average stregth, it won't fill a huge room, but it's got some "oomph" to it as well.So far, so good, and since it succeeds at that fundamental and objective sense, I'm giving it 5 stars.I got the "Man in Acqua" scent.. and.. I cannot safely say how much I personally dislike this scent.I guess it's supposed to be an 'homage' to a common mens cologne (sorry, I don't know my colognes well enough to say which). In reality, it smells like one of those cheap carts in the mall where they chase you down spraying knockoff perfume. Maybe that combined with the biggest car air freshener mistake you've made in your life. Some people must like it - it's got other 5 star reviews - but man did I not like the smell. And I'm a regular users of scented candles from all different "categories" of scents. If you like that "cologne-y" scene, it's reasonably priced, give it a shot, I guess. But if you look at a shelf of Axe and cringe, I wouldn't consider this.

Surprisingly aromatic compared to other all-natural soy candles I have received
This particular candle is the third in a series of soy candles that I have received. One of the others was a total disappointment. The second candle was cute and did have a light, soothing scent, but only after about 30 minutes of burning. I had come to the conclusion that perhaps soy wax, a longer, less hot, burning material, didn't have the necessary element to create the more pungent aroma that one would expect from a scented candle. Then I tested that theory with this one. I chose this candle because it was a scent geared toward the male gender. I thought it would be safe to assume that it would be a scent that potentially would smell like a men's cologne. It was an assumption that turned out to be correct. I'll come back to that in a moment. First, I would like to honor the classy expensive-looking box that it came in. Perfect to appeal to a man's taste, it was simple in design but had that "Ritz Carlton" appeal to it, like a men's cologne you would find in the hotel gift shop. When I opened the box, I was thrilled that the company used honeycomb to protect the product. Honeycomb, although a bit higher priced than bubble wrap or foam, is an environmentally friendly choice for use as it is usually made from recycled paper and is recyclable or reusable. The design of the candle itself was again, clean and classy. They used a minimalist focus with this candle, and it paid off. The black balayage idea is a good choice as it would fit any decor. Onto the scent and my theory. I lit the double wicks and after about 15 minutes, I could start to smell a hint of "man" in my room. Nothing too strong, more of a subtle cologne scent like Bleu de Chanel, balanced without the overwhelming wow factor some colognes have. (This is a simple comparison, not to say the candle smells like the aforementioned cologne, just the notes are similar, also I have not been compensated for using that as an example). I was pleased that after thirty minutes there was a heavier scent in the air that wafted about but again, not over compensatory. This candle debunked my theory about the different waxes mingling with the oils used to scent the candle. If you're looking for a gift for a male counterpart this is a wonderful idea. Its desirable design, its smooth yet balanced scent, and its slow-burning all-natural wax it would be a great buy. I definitely recommend it.

Good gift for your sophisticated loved-one
I am unsophisticated, so my baseline comparison is with similar sized candles from the grocery store for ten dollars cheaper. Does M&SENSE offer ten dollars more value? Well, for starters, I wouldn't give a grocery store candle as a gift, no matter how much I might like its lavender aroma. The packaging on this one is so fancy I can't even bear to throw out the honeycomb-style web of paper padding in the box. The screw-on metal lid is nice, and the jar is elegantly glazed. The smell is masculine, like what I'd expect a male body-wash to smell like, but maybe my unsophistication doesn't allow me to detect the more nuanced essential oils the seller advertises. In fact, the smell overall is significantly less detectable than other candles, incense, or aroma-therapy devices in my house, and after it had burned for awhile I had trouble smelling it at all.I guess branding is a big part of gift-giving, so you'll have to decide if your loved-one would appreciate the name "Egoist," part of "The Diverse Gent" series of candles. Personally, I chose this because I liked the idea of a lavender-sandalwood blend. Interestingly, nothing on the candle or the box mentions these ingredients (or any other scents), and since I had forgotten about the lavender-sandalwood by the time I was lighting it I had no preconceptions other than wondering what an "Egoist" smells like. I still can't detect more than a generic, male, slightly musky scent. BTW, on the box it sure looks like they accidentally printed "The Divense Gent," but maybe that "N" is actually somehow an extra sophisticated "R." It's in one of the lower photos if you want to decide for yourself, assuming typeface selection factors into your gift-giving. Also, the listing mentions that the wicks are made in America, presumably to allay any fears about burning Chinese cotton, but all you'll see in the packaging is "Made in China," so you'll have to relay the wicks information vocally to your loved-one (or perhaps direct him to the listing) if he's the type who worries about air quality while burning cotton.I was happy to learn from the instructions something I never knew about candles: that you're supposed to keep the wick trimmed to no longer than a quarter inch. Maybe this will help my candles burn more evenly from now on.

Quality candle and strong fragrance
M&SENSE Vanilla Musk Scented Candles for Men This is a happy time for me. I enjoy to burning scented candles, and the holiday season gives me a chance to check a bunch of candles out. To let you know, I am an 80 year old male. I burn all scents including florals. The external package is slick cardboard, and suitable for gift giving. There is no useful information about the particular candle on the outside. The internal packaging is a frosted glass jar with a metal lid, suitable for gifting to a male. Neither the external nor internal packaging tell what fragrances are in the candle. The candle is double wick, which helps with a candle so wide. The candle wax is very smooth and soft to the touch, with no frosting. The color is the off-white shade of a quality soy candle. A two hour burn with both wicks burning was smooth, and developed a melt pool that covered the entire width of the jar. A hot wax finger test resulted in an oily, smooth residue with no hard waxy coating. Again, an indicator of quality soy wax. The cold scent throw is good, with a strong fragrance. The hot scent throw soon fills the room with fragrance, which remains for a significant time after the candle is extinguished. This candle is definitely formulated to appeal to the male consumer. The oils used for this candle are not indicated anywhere on the external or internal packaging. The webpage says it is vanilla/musk, and that works for me. I also got a leather smell, not sandlewood, but the smell of an old leather belt. The fragrance is an excellent addition, but I cannot identify it. Overall, this is a high quality soy wax candle, with prominent and quality fragrances. I would rate this large and very reasonably priced candle as a solid 5 for a gift to a man who enjoys burning scented, non-floral candles. I would prefer the fragrances be named on the interior container.

Lovely fragrance and Excellent customer service!
Another update 11.14.24: I received another candle from the vendor - White Lazy - which is fragranced softly and gently. It is just the whimsical aroma I was hoping for and am delighted with the vendor's customer service who were incredibly kind, and went well above and beyond any of my wildest expectations to ensure I had a candle I am sure to enjoy. And, I will!Update 11.7.24: The seller has excellent customer service and I am truly touched by their kindness. They noticed my earlier review (see below) and reached out to me directly to understand my needs and work with me to figure out a solution. Their care was completely unexpected and I am taken aback by their diligence in communicating with me to reach a solution that works for me. I highly recommend this seller and their products. Updating my review to 5 stars.------Update 11/5/24: Just received a very kind and thoughtful message from the seller offering to share other fragrances to see if they would be easier on my asthma. In this day and age, I am truly touched by their kindness. In the meantime, today is a warm day, I have the candle burning in a separate room with the window open, and can smell it gently in the room where I am working. It would still be a bit strong for me if I burned it in the same room, even with the window open. Upgrading my review to 4 stars because of how kind and responsive the seller was. I am touched. Thank you, M&SENSE!------I like the fragrance, but it is strong despite what the description says. With Fall and Winter coming, I had wanted a gently fragranced candle to add warmth to my space. The "gently fragranced" part was important because I have asthma and cannot tolerate strong aromas for very long. I was bummed out that this was stronger than expected. I may use it on days when I can keep the windows wide open. We'll see....
