Seed Needs, Specialty Pumpkin Seed Packet Collection (4 Individual Varieties of Pumpkin Seeds for Planting) Fairytale, Blue Jarrahdale, Lumina White & Jack O Lantern

When these seeds arrived in their beautiful packages, I couldn't wait to get started! I had volunteered to raise some of these lovely and unique pumpkins for a friend's Fall wedding. The hand drawn illustrations on the packages made for such a nice presentation, I thought my friend might want to use packets of the seeds at the same wedding, as favors! Anyway, I was working on getting the soil ready in my garden, with the seeds beside me on a bench. I reached for the packets, and to my surprise, discovered that they had disappeared! Further investigation revealed that they had been stolen by Watson, my Golden Retriever! I caught him in the very act of eating my seeds. Thankfully they were not covered in pesticides and have done him no harm. I fished what I could out of his mouth, and found several more scattered in the grass. I planted everything I could scavenge, and they have sprouted and are growing splendidly! Of course I have no idea which plants are which, I guess "by their fruits we shall know them", when the pumpkins start coming on. So far, I think these seeds are a roaring success, considering their dubious start!

Note: the gray (Jarrahdale) and white (Casper) pumpkins in the attached photo are from this Seed Needs packet.I was very pleased with these 3 types of gourds, especially with the Jarrahdale and Casper. The Fairytale never really turned pink. Instead, they were mostly green, with some pale pink on the bottom. I left one on the vine into November, but it never turned. The Casper turned out smaller than I wanted, but I think that was due to the close planting space that I gave them.My success rate was very high with all 3 types. I planted most seeds straight into the ground in May (zone 8). I tried one of each indoors, and had success with that too, but i don't think it was necessary. I believe all the seeds I planted (5-10 of each type) sprouted, or almost all of them.Overall, I loved this package (the artwork is kinda fun too). You'll get a more diverse pumpkin offering for your garden and Autumn displays/decor. You'll also get some great seeds for roasting and eating (I go with olive oil, cinnamon, allspice, and sea salt) at a cost effective price.

5 out of the 6 I’ve planted have sprouted, in the time quoted on the packet. The packs didn’t say how far apart to make the mounds, and I feel like that’s standard seed packet info. Otherwise, the package is gorgeous and I’m happy with the progress so far! Will update when/if anything further grows. I like that this supports an actual farmer and not a big box store.UPDATE: I got a huge vine and one veryyyyy tinyyyy pumpkin before we had an extremely early frost that knocked this guy out. I can’t blame the seed for that, but I’m bummed I got only one itty bitty pumpkin that stopped growing for several weeks before the frost...

I've ordered pumpkin seeds from Seed Needs before and they were so good, I just had to order again. I like the packaging since they separate the different varieties. The pumpkins not only look beautiful in my garden, but make excellent pumpkin pies...not to mention Autumn decorations. The cost is so good, I will order from Seed Needs again.

I was so excited to try for pumpkins again this year with my 5-yr-old and these came so highly rated. All seeds sprouted; some produced male flowers but no female flowers grew from any. Vines never grew out. So sad about these.

The packaging was as pictured. Thought there would be too few seeds, but each seed popped up immediately! I was worried some of them wouldn’t grow and that I would need lots of backups. Glad to see these little seeds sprout and turn into little plants. They are only a few inches tall now, so I’m not sure how the pumpkins will turn out, but so far so good!

ok we will write another end review after the great family pumpkin grow off is over. every family member has some seeds and were all hoping to have the best Halloween pumpkin.

I love that this pack included unique pumpkins that I love and I am excited to grow for myself. I would have loved to give these seeds a 5 but I haven't planted them yet and thought I should leave some room for performance. I will try to update this review later in the season with how they are growing.
