I love this head. I’m using it on a treeroot compact tripod and it fits great and the built in pan feature of the reverse ball head works perfectly with this head. The head is built super well and screams quality. I was surprised by how light it is considering how strong it feels. The only minor issues that might bother some people is the lack of a panning function and the lack of function to adjust left/right to align the lens axis for panning.But for a wildlife large lens type use, those are not deal breakers at all. I love how small and compact this is and am super happy with it.

Incredible design to lower weight without compromising performance. Precision quality components with liquid smooth motion. This is pro quality gear with a premium fit and finish. The machined aluminum is skeletonized to cut down on weight while maintaining strength.The compromise you must make in using this is that the lens has to be side mounted. There is no U shaped cradle arm to go under the lens. This puts shear forces in the lens mount you would not otherwise have. I think you could convert this by adding a cradle arm but I don’t know if they sell one. It’s all standard mounting points so another brand could be an option.This isn’t the style for me but it by no means reflects on the items quality.
