EmersonGear Recon Kit Chest Pack
A very nice piece of gear. Well made with plenty of pockets and pouched. 4x zip pockets in total, one externally and two inside the main zip compartment. I can see multiple uses for this item from sports shooting to wilderness trips, rafting, kayaking etc. Pack it with those essential survival tools and immediate access items that you just can’t do without if you get separated from your main pack. Plenty of carry space for maps, compass, field note pad, pocket knife, GPS, matches, lighter, torch etc. If you find it too cumbersome or restrictive to carry just pack it away in your main backpack. Measuring 12.6” x 7.9” x 2”, I had wondered if it might prove to be too wide for my small frame but that is not the case. A very competitive price when compared with other brands of similar items yet still made to a high standard with all the features the other brands have. Made in China. In keeping with other reviews I also reconfigured the straps to the correct orientation. I'm so impressed with this item I have ordered a second one in multicam.PRODUCT UPDATE: THERE ARE AN AWFUL LOT OF WHINY POSTS ON THIS PAGE REGARDING THE USABILITY (OR LACK OF) OF THIS PRODUCT AND THE SLIPPAGE OF THE SHOULDER STRAPS. FOR SOME REASON THIS PRODUCT ARRIVES WITH THE SHOULDER STRAPS THREADED THROUGH THE BUCKLES THE WRONG WAY. ALL THAT IS REQUIRED IS FOR THE END USER TO RE-THREAD THE STRAPS THROUGH THE BUCKLES IN THE CORRECT ORIENTATION. IT'S NOT ROCKET SCIENCE !!!!!!! I have also added a wide Ranger Band to each of the tension straps of the harness to tuck away the straps and these can be slid down as far as the buckles. Even with the addition of another small pouch attached to the molle on front of this unit the straps retain this unit in position without slipping.

Straps can be fixed
Product is fine. It's basically what I expected. Feels durable, has a good number of pockets and compartments. Padding on the back of the pouch is nice. I think it's a good value compared to similar products.I mostly wanted to write a review to include this picture for anyone concerned about or having trouble with the straps sliding. The straps are designed to side when pulled on one end and stay tight when pulled on the other just like a seatbelt. This is so you can tighten them while you're wearing it, but they won't loosen up on you as you walk. If your straps are sliding then reverse the direction they feed through the buckles. I had to reverse all 4 of my straps. Picture for reference.

Quality product. Great for running/hiking while carrying the essentials
Perfect compartment for running & other items. I'll run/hike upwards of 10 miles and it is super comfortable the entire time. I carry my CCW w/ extra Mag and phone, so it has ample room, but has the inner pockets/retaining bands to hold those items in place. I did cinch the straps around the chest quite tight, so it limited the pouch from bouncing. I secured the extra length of the strap with Gorilla Tape & it works quite well. Would definitely recommend this product. Well made & good quality.

Great with one MASSIVE flaw...
1st, this bag has a massive ton of potential. Lots of pockets, storage and even comfort while on with it heavily weighted. Honestly, my cousin and brother had the Hill People chest rigs and we all commented on how much better this one was on our recent backpacking trip. Now for the bad news. They have a MAJOR manufacturing flaw on this rig. On the left side, the straps and loop holders DO NOT hold up. As you walk they begin slidding out. Over and over again I was pulling them in to tighten them as they would just go right back to the base position. I finally got so fed up with it that I had to attach some DRings to the top and attach them to my backpack itself. To hold it steady. Was pretty dissapointed in this. My brother suggested getting it sewn down to where I wanted it but this seems to be something that should have been considered in its making. The clips on the right of the rig hold just fine and I am curious as to why they didnt just make it with 4 clips instead of two.Anyway. That's my review and hopefully it helps others. Larger and more space than the expensive Hill People Gear (better price as well) but they need to address this issue with their pull tabs.

Needs the clips replaced.
Get the replacement buckles. I did thread the buckles right but it still slipped while wearing it. Once I replaced the buckles this became a nice bag. I am buying a second for my wife.
