This is a really good tamper and results in consistent espresso shots. It fits my 58mm portafilter perfect and is alot of tamper for the money! It performs really well and I really recommend this to any home barista!

Tamping with a traditional tamper takes practice to get the coffee puck level and consistent. It is like a rite of passage for coffee lovers. Hence I had eschewed these new fangled tampers that automatically do this for you. I also didn't like the feel of some earlier tampers that wobbled about and felt glitchy in use. Nevertheless, I have just become a convert. The Normcore V4, is particularly well made. The finish of the Walnut and the metal is excellent. It operates really smoothly and it is so easy use!

So I've been tamping regular style for years....decades maybe. Never really been an issue. Get it level more often than not.After watching James Hoffman do his regular puck prep I saw he used a similar sprung loaded tamper. £170 mind.....bit rich for my blood.So went for this one as a bit of a treat for myself as well as an IMS basket.I have to say I love this tamper. Beautifully built and a pleasure to use.

Brought as an alternative to the Sage one that comes with the machine to get some consistency in level and tamping between me and my wife.Fits my Sage 54mm Portafilter perfectly and the depth matches the razer tool.Really easy and comfortable to use and have left with the spring it comes with so don’t know what it’s like swapping them, but the pressure is enough I don’t feel like I’m forcing my arm through the worktop!Weight is heavy but that makes it feel more robust!Love the Walnut handle and black, went for the flat based version on Google advice, although the ridged one would make a better looking tamp!If you can justify £48 I’d go with it as it feels good value for money with the build quality and ease of use.Personal preference but I’ve knocked it down 1 star as would’ve loved a completely unnecessary but satisfying click when it reaches the bottom of the tamp!

Works great. Feels well made with a nice weight to it. Like the wooden handle and the silicone disc holder. Works so much better than the tamp that was included with Sage machine.

Great tamper that fits the portafilter on our E61 machine exactly.

Does the job well for my sage bambino, 10 times better than the one I got with my machine.
